I think this question is a common question and those of you with diesel engine experience probably could help.I know that most or all diesel engines,at times, experience difficult starting problems (especially in cold weather) but what about warm weather?I have a Iseki TL3200 with a Isuzu 32 engine that I feel,is much harder to start than normal,I have had other diesel tractors that do not experience this much difficulty in warm weather.I have removed all 4 of the glow plugs, checked them by connecting them to a battery, they seem to operate correct (they all get red hot) I have cleaned the fuel lins, replaced the fuel and filter. The engine runs real good, and has good power......after you get it started. Any suggestions on where or what to look for?

Are you pre-heating the glow plugs before you crank the engine? If so, are you sure the glow plugs are getting power when you preheat? ....

Thanks Steve for your follow up.I do pre heat the plugs for sometime, the indicator that shows up on the instr.panel is VERY red and glowing.I thought the same as you, on enough power to the plugs. So, I used a additional heavy wire to each plug, this is in addition to the existing metal band that the factory has installed. The original glow plug has a metal strip/band that connects all of the plugs together, then a #12 wire connects to the band. ....

Rod: If you are certain you are getting power to the glow plugs, I would double check fuel delivery (dirty injectors??) then make sure the motor is cranking over fast enough Keep us posted with the progress Best regards Daniel ....

How many hours are on the tractor? Is the battery getting old? You might think that the engine turns over fast enough and it really isnt. Also check the starter, it may be getting weak. ....

Double check that the engine is turning at the manufactures recomended cranking speed. More importantly check that there is absolutly no fuel/air leaks in either the primary or secondary fuel lines. My experience with small diesels is limited to VW's and I have found that the smaller the engine the more critical the tightnes of the fuel connections. May also ensure that the valve and fuel timing are also correct. Yes and as the others have suggested how many hours? Too many and too low of compresionwill also make for difficulty starting. As an experiment try cranking and introduce a flame from a propane torch into the air intake if this starts it easily the problem is in the glow plugs/wiring. Good luck George. ....
